THE INDUSTRY'S BEST TELESCOPE AND ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY EXPERTS
Look, we get it. Stating that we’re the “best” can seem a bit like a catch. However, with a combined astronomy experience of over 115 years (117 to be exact), our team of telescope and astrophotography experts, a.k.a. "Gear Experts", knows astronomy and how to service our customers.
We know how to narrow down the products that best fit YOUR needs, rather than push something simply because it’s easy. Once we’ve done that, we ensure you understand WHY we’re recommending the product by teaching you the concepts behind the product and in the process, we demystify all the terminology. Leaving you with confidence knowing you are making the right decision and one that is perfect for you and your goals of viewing the night sky!
Our knowledge is only surpassed by our passion for this wonderful hobby we all love so much. We truly believe our team is a cut above the rest and we look forward working with you!
NON-COMMISSIONED PRODUCT ADVISORS

There’s never any pressure to buy, and you can rest assured that your recommendation is personalized for you rather than motivated by financial gain. We look forward to helping you start your astronomy journey!
iOptron 80 mm f/5 Refractor OTA
The highly portable iOptron 80 mm Refractor OTA (R80) is a superb telescope for astronomy that can easily be brought along with you on your next observing adventure. Internal fully multi-coated optics allow the R80 to display images that are both brighter and sharper. Optimally suited for absorbing wide expanses of the night sky at once, this short 400 mm (f/5.0) focal length objective lens is great for viewing larger deep sky objects like spectacular star clusters, wispy nebulae, and scopious galaxies. In addition, this telescope also proficient at viewing closer objects within our own solar system. Witness lunar phases, track planetary motion, and take in crisp views of Saturn's rings, Jupiter's moons, and even birds and other terrestrial objects with this 80 mm refractor.
For a fast, lightweight guidescope, the iOptron R80 is an excellent choice. By using the appropriate rings and dovetail, this scope can be attached to a larger primary telescope optical tube assembly without difficulty, and is capable of accepting a digital SLR, small CCD camera, or a stand-alone autoguider.

Recommended Accessories

Apertura 2x 1.25" Barlow
A 2X Barlow is one of the most popular telescope accessories available because it doubles the magnification of any 1.25” eyepiece you use with it! This telescope comes with a 25 mm & 10 mm eyepiece, for 16X & 40X magnification, respectively. Double the power of each (632X & 80X, respectively) by adding a Barlow to the mix, and for every eyepiece you buy thereafter, you‘ll have two magnification options instead of one!

Apertura 1.25" Moon Filter
You won't believe how bright the moon is through a telescope! A Moon Filter will dim the light, just like sunglasses do, so you can see more details on the lunar surface. The moon filter threads onto the barrel of all included eyepieces and any other astronomy accessory you buy later that has a 1.25” barrel.

Celestron Sky Maps and Planisphere
This water resistant sky map does double duty! On the front is a northern hemisphere planisphere that rotates so you can figure out what constellations are up for a specific date and time. Inside are seasonal star maps that display where bright stars and celestial objects are located, with info broken down by constellation. Recommended for anyone who wants to know what's up in the sky at any given time, this guide will serve you well for many years to come!

Apertura Astro Vision Red LED Flashlight
A red flashlight keeps your eyes dark-adapted for the best views through a telescope! Use it to read star charts, look for accessories, or get around in the dark. A must for any amateur astronomer!

Apertura 6mm Plossl 1.25" Eyepiece
This 6 mm Plossl eyepiece will produce 67X magnification when used in the iOptron 80 mm refractor. If you also pick up a 2X Barlow, you’d be able to double the magnification of the 6 mm to 134X, great for the planets on nights of good seeing.

Apertura 4mm Plossl 1.25" Eyepiece
This 4 mm Plossl eyepiece will produce 100X magnification when used in the iOptron 80 mm refractor. If you also pick up a 2X Barlow, you’d be able to double the magnification of the 4 mm to 200X, which is near maximum for nights of good seeing.
