Simplify Your Binoviewer Experience with Apertura

This Apertura 1.25" Binoviewer truly sets itself apart from the rest with a design that specifically maintains a true 1x magnification and parfocality across multiple optical systems without the need for additional corrective or magnifying lenses! These binoviewers are meant to simplify setup, so you can spend more time observing and less time getting and installing additional accessories!

Apertura has designed these binoviewers with versatility and simplicity in mind! It can be difficult and time consuming to fuss around with other binoviewers that require threaded adapters or correctors to work. Apertura's innovative design eliminates that worry altogether! Whether you are using an SCT, refractor, or Newtonian, you can simply install the binoviewer to your 1.25" focuser, attach matching eyepieces (not included), focus, and start observing!

Simple and Cost Effective! The Apertura Binoviewers are Designed to Please!

Get the most out of your observation! Backed with great features, such as adjustable interpupillary distance and compatibility with a variety of different telescope designs, the Apertura Binoviewers deliver a high-performance experience!

TeleCentric Optical Design - See the Whole FOV through Both Eyepieces!
Designed with a telecentric optical system, the Apertura Binoviewer divides incoming light into two independent optical paths: one for each eyepiece. This optical system splits the available light rather than the image. This means if you close one eye, you will still see the full field through either individual eyepiece! The design allows for a true 1x magnification and parfocality, meaning you can switch out the binoviewer with a single eyepiece with little to no additional refocusing needed, and you won't need additional corrective lenses or magnifiers often required by other conventional binoviewers.

Adjustable Interpupillary Distance
With the distance between the two eyes varying from observer to observer, Apertura wanted to create a design with an adjustable mechanism to address this variety of users. The sliding mechanism utilizes markings to provide an avenue for quick and smooth adjustability between multiple users, all while firmly keeping the adjustment in place once set. This flexibility makes the Apertura binoviewers a great addition to bring with you during star parties and other gatherings where you want to share the wonders of the night sky through your telescope! To properly set the interpupillary distance, simply adjust the binoviewer's width in or out until the two offset or overlapping images seen with both eyes merges into a single image.

Compatible with Newtonians!
This binoviewer from Apertura is compatible with Newtonian telescopes! This compatibility is possible because of the binoviewer's 0 mm optical path length (also known as a neutral optical path length) and inversion of the image. The Apertura binoviewer utilizes relay lenses, eliminating the need for an OCS or any other adapters that might be needed to work with any type of telescope. Essentially, if a normal eyepiece will reach focus in the telescope, so with the Apertura binoviewer! This makes it great to pair with one of the Apertura AD Dobsonians. All you need to do it insert the binoviewer into the focuser and secure it, just as you would with a normal eyepiece. Please Note: If the telescope has a 2" focuser, you will need to purchase a 2" to 1.25" adapter (not included). The image will be correct and erect during use with the binoviewer. This means you can use this binoviewer for terrestrial use as a spotting scope!

Great for Use with 15 mm SWA or 20 mm Plössls!
This binoviewer has a maximum field stop of 17.3 mm, providing a focal plane well suited for a wide variety of medium to higher magnification 1.25" eyepieces. While other eyepieces with larger field stops will work with the Apertura binoviewers, the limiting factor will be limited to the field stop of the binoviewer, rather than the eyepiece. For example, an eyepiece with a wider AFOV, like the 70° of the Apertura SWA 20 mm, will be limited to about 50°. When using a smaller eyepiece, like the Apertura 15 mm SWA eyepiece, all 70° of the AFOV can be used. Please Note: No eyepieces are included with the purchase of this binoviewer, and it is important to make sure you have two matching eyepieces when using this accessory.

Focusing with Your Apertura Binoviewer
To focus your 1.25" binoviewer from Apertura, you will need to make two initial focus adjustments: the telescope and the diopter adjustment. First, you must focus the telescope like you normally would. However, make sure your right eye is closed or covered, and focus the telescope using only the left eyepiece. Then, you will need to close or cover the left eye and focus the right eyepiece using diopter adjustment, an independent focus adjustment mechanism on the binoviewer itself. You may want to make additional fine adjustments after making the initial focus adjustments.
