Apertura Anchor - Pier for Strainwave Mounts
A Portable Pier to Anchor Your Strainwave Mount!
Set your strainwave mount up for success with this portable pillar from Apertura! With this pier your mount has more clearance, can shoulder more equipment, and can be more easily adjusted than a standard tripod—while also having more portability than a traditional pier. Secure your strainwave in the vast sea of stars with the Apertura Anchor!
With the Apertura Anchor Pier for Strainwave Mounts, you get the best of both the tripod and pier experience! The 4" pier tube extends about 19" past the leg joints, providing over twice the clearance of most strainwave pier extensions to help ensure longer OTAs have the clearance they need. This pier and tripod hybrid is robust, approaching what permanent piers can shoulder with its 220 lb. equipment capacity. This powerful platform doesn't sacrifice portability for this doubling of capacity over common strainwave tripods; with a collapsible leg design and carry bag included that make moving this 17.5 lb. pier easy. When you're ready to tether your astronomy system deployment is quick, with a detent locking pin mechanism and simple lever collar lock/unlock tensioner. Swivel locks have been added to the three feet to make finding your footing simple, which alongside the large foot leveling controls makes for a system that is as just easy to stabilize as it is to deploy. With all these fantastic design facets, the Apertura Anchor gives your strainwave the perfect blend of clearance, stability, strength, simplicity, and portability!
Superior Strainwave Compatibility
The Apertura Anchor is compatible with some of the most popular strainwave mounts available today! Connect the incredible harmonics from ZWO such as the AM5N and AM3; Sky-Watcher's entry in the New Wave, the Wave 150i; or WarpAstron's superb servo powered strainwaves, the WD-20 and WD-17. These mounts can all be attached via the included M6x1.0 screws, but a 3/8"x16 mount is included as an alternative attachment for these mounts or other excellent equipment using this standard.
Attach and Detach Your Strainwave in a Snap
Designed for the most popular strainwave mounts on the market today, attaching your strainwave/ harmonic mount to the Apertura Anchor is a straight-forward process; with the included pier plate accommodating both 3/8"x16 center stud and three M6x1.0 hole pattern mount connections. To connect your mount, begin by loosening the three red pier plate lock knobs at the top of the mount. Twist clockwise and lift the plate out of the pier. Rest your mount down on a clean and clear surface without a telescope installed, and then line the pier plate up with the base. Install either the 3/8"x16 center stud or three M6x1.0 screws included to secure your mount to the pier plate, tightening these down snugly. Your mount can now be slid back onto the pier by lining up the three red lock knobs with the grooves in the pier. Once resting in these grooves, rotate the mount counter-clockwise until the plate stops and then tighten the lock knobs back down. Your mount is now ready for astronomy equipment. With this plate installed, breaking down the mount is as simple as removing your scope, loosening the lock knobs, twist, and lift!
Premium Harmonic Mount Platform
With plenty of optical tube clearance, capacity, portability, and compatibility, the Apertura Anchor Pier for Strainwave Mounts is a premium platform for your high performance mount!
Sturdy Strainwave Support
If you're looking to push
your strainwave mount's performance you want a platform that is
stable. Carbon fiber options are perfect for less demanding
setups, however their ultra-light nature makes them more prone to tip-over
with heavier/larger optics; and their lower weight capacity can cramp some
of the more involved astrophotography systems in use today. Stainless steel
tripods can help overcome this concern, but offer only minimal clearance for
longer optics even when paired with a pier extension. The Apertura Anchor
gives you a mount base that has the secure heft, payload capacity, and
stability of a stainless steel tripod, while giving you more space for
scopes and remaining mobile. It achieves this feat with a solid red anodized
aluminum 4" diameter pier tube, precise and strong aluminum supporting
legs and components, and stainless steel hardware; which give the pier an
impressive 220 lb. maximum capacity and 39" of lift for only a 17.5 lb. platform.
Quick Set Up and Take Down
The Apertura Anchor Pier
for Strainwave Mounts gives you the power of a pier in a form factor that is
still portable! Once it is deployed, the quick detach plate allows you to
easily set up and break down your astronomy system as needed. Setting up the
pier itself is easy; just set it down, pull the collar upwards until the
detent pin clicks to extend the legs, then tighten down the collar lever to
lock the legs in place. When you're ready to break down the Apertura Anchor,
loosen the locking lever, and pull the detent pin out while pulling the
collar downwards. You can then pack this away in the included carry case for
easy traveling and storage.
Easily Find Your Footing
With independently adjustable
swivel and leveling on each foot, setting up a secure and level platform is
a cinch! Unlocking and locking rotation of each large foot pad can be done
with a quick twist of the collar at the end of each leg extension, allowing
you to easily swivel the foot to the best position for your location. With
level adjustment knobs, setting your mount on an even keel no longer
requires lifting each leg—just loosen the level lock, precisely dial
in your adjustment, and re-lock. Creating a rock solid portable platform has
never been so simple!
