Simplify the next step in your astrophotography journey, with the Optolong L2 Dual Combo 2" Filter Set!

Creating captivating SHO (SII, Ha, and OIII) palette images doesn't require switching to monochrome or buying expansive filter sets with this filter synergy from Optolong. Leveraging the additional color information gathered by a one-shot-color (OSC) camera, the Optolong L2 Dual Combo 2" Filter Set allows you to collect the Hubble-palette with just two filters instead of three! This is achieved with Optolong's premium 7nm dual band filters, the SII/OIII L-Synergy and Ha/OIII L-eXtreme. These powerful and precise filters give you incredible light pollution suppression and contrast, revealing nebulosity in crisp detail even in challenging environments. With Optolong's halo suppression filter technology, this combination set will render the wispy wonders of nebuale with clarity. If you want to fast track fantastic results, this system from Optolong is hard to beat!

A Stunning SHO Set

Let's Take a Deeper Look!

What sets one filter apart from another? Which filter is best for me? When developing a filter, manufacturers provide a chart that represents the wavelengths permitted through this filter. This gives insight into the filter’s performance, and what it can help you achieve. So, how exactly do I read a transmission chart? Our team has put together a comprehensive article, to help you understand the fundamentals on How to Read a Transmission Chart. Check out the article and feel more confident about choosing the right filter for your needs!

Two Premium Filters, Three Filter Results

The Optolong L2 Dual Combo 2" Filter Set brings a two filter system that yields three filter results for one incredible value!

Premium Dual Band Performance
The L-Synergy brings you precision dual band filtering, with thin 7 nm bandpasses at the SII and OIII emission lines! These slight breaks in the light spectrum isolate those key wavelengths for incredible contrast and detail on narrowband targets and features. This precision allows you to hone in on nebulosity even in significant light pollution. Optolong's extensive imaging filter experience is on full display with the L-Synergy, with a formula that also fights the dreaded haloing effect; leaving you with sharp stunning shots of the sky's ethereal wonders!

A High Quality Traditional Dual Band
Optolong's L-eXtreme filter has cemented itself as a staple of OSC narrowband imaging, with its powerful filtering performance! A more traditional dual band filter, the L-eXtreme targets the Ha and OIII emission lines with laser focus. It's 7nm bandpasses on both these critical wavelengths allows you to create stunning images of nebulae like the Elephant's Trunk, Heart Nebula, North American, and more! Optolong has thrown their expertise behind this filter as well, with improved halo performance for great image clarity even when bright stars are nearby.

Create SHO with Just 2 Filters!
This 2 filter set from Optolong puts you on the fast track to creating the typical 3 filter SHO or 'Hubble-palette' look! This is made possible by the extra color information that OSC cameras collect and the synergy of the included L-eXtreme and L-Synergy's clever emission line targeting. As the two emission lines each filter targets are far enough apart on the light spectrum, it is possible separate the RGB channels collected by your color camera to isolate two narrowband channels from one frame. With coverage of SII, Ha, and OIII from the included filters, just two frames give you the three traditional channels of a stunning SHO palette. This efficiency allows you to create images with this excellent, dynamic, color profile in less time and with less complication than a monochrome setup!

Easy Integration
Optolong has ensured that integrating this filter set into your astrophotography system is straight forward, with both filters from the Optolong L2 Dual Combo 2" Filter Set featuring a standard 2" threaded filter design. With M48x0.75 threaded filter cells, you can use this set with just about all common 2" filter solutions; from the manual ZWO Gen 2 M42 x 0.75 Filter Drawer for 2" Filters to simplified electronic options like the ZWO 5 Position Electronic Filter Wheel for 2" Filters. The 2" size give you plenty of camera coverage as well, capable of accommodating up to full-frame sensors.

Premium Construction
These premium filters from Optolong feature optical glass substrate for superb clarity. They feature a transmittance Tp of 85%; with the L-Synergy providing 7nm bandpasses on the SII and OIII emission lines, and the L-eXtreme honing in on 7nm bandpasses of the Ha and OIII lines. Their surface is 60/40 quality, with a flatness λ/4 and a parallelism of 30s. The filter thickness is 1.85mm. For safe storage when not in use, each filter comes packed in an EVA foam-lined plastic cases.
