The result is a line of eyepieces with long eye relief and incredible full-field image quality, bringing stunning celestial views to those with and without eyeglasses! With 19 mm of eye relief you can comfortably enjoy views that are sharp, full of contrast, and well corrected across the entire image—and with 82° apparent FOV, there is a lot to enjoy. The 5.5 mm Nagler Type 7 Eyepiece brings this performance to a high magnification design, bringing you a spectacular close up view through your telescope. This eyepiece excellence sits in a high quality housing, and features an 1.25" & 2" barrel for compatibility with most diagonals on the market today. While the long eye relief makes this an attractive option for those with corrective lenses, for those who observe without glasses this eyepiece comes with an eye guard to help block stray light and correctly position your eye. With elegant performance like this, if you're looking to add a premium high power option to your toolkit the Tele Vue 5.5 mm Nagler Type 7 Eyepiece is sure to be the perfect pick!

An Impressive and Immersive Eyepiece

With an immersive apparent field of view that will take you on a virtual spacewalk through the skies above, eyeglass friendly eye relief, parafocal performance, and Tele Vue's superb quality, the Tele Vue 5.5 mm Nagler Type 7 Eyepiece is a premium piece of kit for your eyepiece library!

Spacewalk FOV
The Nagler eyepiece line has been designed to provide a visual "spacewalk" like experience, by providing an expansive apparent FOV. The Type 7 series is no exception, with this eyepiece providing an 82° apparent FOV! This expansive field of view gives your observations a more immersive feel, bringing the wonder of visual astronomy to even more awe-inspiring levels. This is made possible by not only providing a wide view, but one that has full-field sharpness, excellent contrast, and distortion correction!

High Power Focal Length
With an incredibly short 5.5 mm focal length, this eyepiece gives you a very close-up view of objects through your scope! Take a visual walk across the surface of the Moon with 1500 mm focal length scopes, approach Jupiter with 2000 mm optics, and observe the Hercules Globular Cluster up close with 1000 mm telescopes. All this and much more are available to you in immersive and crisp detail through the Tele Vue 5.5 mm Nagler Type 7 Eyepiece!

Long Eye Relief
The Nagler Type 7 series will be a welcome sight to eyeglass users! With 19 mm of eye relief, using this eyepiece is a comfortable proposition even if you need corrective lenses—especially helpful for those with an astigmatism that may struggle to get a crisp view without their glasses. An adjustable and locking eye guard is included to help setting your head at the proper exit pupil position if you do not wear glasses; additionally helping block stray light that can degrade image contrast. These features combine to make an eyepiece that will shine for most any user!

Easy Eyepiece Changes
This eyepiece series is parafocal across the four models in this line, meaning that changing out your Nagler Type 7 eyepieces for a new perspective won't require refocusing! For Nagler Type 7 eyepieces with 1.25" barrels like this Tele Vue 5.5 mm model, you will need to use the 2" to 1.25" Satin HiHat Adapter (sold separately). This adapter can additionally be used with almost all* other Tele Vue 1.25" eyepieces for a parafocal performance with the Nagler 7 series, giving you a fluid eyepiece swapping experience in Tele Vue's excellent visual equipment ecosystem!

* Tele Vue 40 mm Plossl 1.25" eyepieces excluded

Compatibility
The Tele Vue 5.5 mm Nagler Type 7 eyepiece can be used in just about any focuser or diagonal on the market today thanks to its 2" and 1.25" compatibility! While its long eye relief makes it a great candidate for those using corrective lenses to correct an astigmatism, this eyepiece is compatible with the Tele Vue DIOPTRIX line for a sharp, eyeglasses-free, astigmatism correction. If you're looking to bring this eyepiece's awe-inspiring view to even more immersive heights, you're in luck as this eyepiece also is compatible with bino-viewers.
