For your convenience, a built-in focusing scale lets you effortlessly return to a previous focusing position for rapid, repeatable results. Perfect for the Planets, but Great For All Objects!
While a long focal ratio typically meant only compact, bright objects (such as the planets) were available for observation, modern technology has progressed to expand the horizons of what’s possible. The advanced design of 2” eyepieces on the market today enable wider fields of view to be observed, with this Apertura 102 f/11 FC100 ED Refractor providing a maximum TFOV of 2.45°. When paired with the Apertura 28 mm 82° Panorama eyepiece, the resulting TFOV is 2.05°, a wonderful perspective to fit the entirety of the Andromeda Galaxy, the Orion Nebula, and plenty of other large deep sky objects within the frame!
Included 10x50 Finder Scope
To help you locate objects with ease, Apertura includes a 10x50 Right Angle Finder Scope within this package. The high-quality cemented doublet design offers sharp visuals and high contrast detail, while the 200 mm focal length and 50 mm aperture present wide, bright views of the night sky. When coupled with the added 20 mm eyepiece, this finder offers a generous 5° field of view. Such attributes make this finder scope perfect for star hopping! Ergonomically crafted, the right-angle design greatly alleviates neck strain during target locating, and the illuminated reticle lights up the crosshairs for effortless centering. All of the necessary mounting hardware is included within the box.
Outfitted for Exploration
In addition to the 10x50 finderscope, Apertura includes numerous extra accessories for observation in no time! A pair of mounting rings with large, easy-grip thumb screws hold your telescope secure, while the 9 ⅝” V series dovetail plate enables attachment to a wide range of telescope mounts. For mounts that require the larger D series dovetail bar, we recommend the Apertura D Style 11" Dovetail Plate - V2 (not included). Within the box you’ll also find a 2” to 1.25” adapter for use with just about any eyepiece or observing accessory on the market today. The added objective cover keeps your optics shielded from dirt and moisture when not in use, and the highly durable aluminum hard case protects during storage and transport. The interior of this case is padded for effective shock absorption, and there is even a special cutout to hold the included 10x50 finder scope and optional 2” Twist-Lock Prism Diagonal!
Ready for Binoviewers
Wishing to use a binoviewer that requires additional in-travel? Not a problem! The Apertura 102 mm FCD-100 Refractor features a removable section just in front of the Rack & Pinion focuser. Simply unthread the focuser from the telescope, remove this portion of the scope, then thread the focuser back in. You’re now free to enjoy a highly immersive experience with your user-supplied binoviewer accessory.
