THE INDUSTRY'S BEST TELESCOPE AND ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY EXPERTS
Look, we get it. Stating that we’re the “best” can seem a bit like a catch. However, with a combined astronomy experience of over 115 years (117 to be exact), our team of telescope and astrophotography experts, a.k.a. "Gear Experts", knows astronomy and how to service our customers.
We know how to narrow down the products that best fit YOUR needs, rather than push something simply because it’s easy. Once we’ve done that, we ensure you understand WHY we’re recommending the product by teaching you the concepts behind the product and in the process, we demystify all the terminology. Leaving you with confidence knowing you are making the right decision and one that is perfect for you and your goals of viewing the night sky!
Our knowledge is only surpassed by our passion for this wonderful hobby we all love so much. We truly believe our team is a cut above the rest and we look forward working with you!
NON-COMMISSIONED PRODUCT ADVISORS
Our team of product advisors know what it’s like to buy astronomy equipment for the first time. There are so many types of telescopes and accessories that the process can be overwhelming enough without having to worry about pushy salespeople trying to make a big commission.
That’s why our unbiased, non-commissioned product advisors’ only incentive is to recommend a product that they truly believe is the right choice to help you meet your goals, and at a price point that also meets your budget. There’s never any pressure to buy, and you can rest assured that your recommendation is personalized for you rather than motivated by financial gain. We look forward to helping you start your astronomy journey!
Celestron Omni XLT 150 Reflector
Optical Tube Assembly Only
The Celestron Omni XLT 150 Newtonian Reflector optical tube assembly offers up 6" of light-gathering capability, which makes it a great choice whether your goal is to explore the solar system, venture out into deep-space, or do some imaging with the help of your choice of stable mount. Using aspheric shaping technology in conjunction with hand-figuring of the optics, the Omni XLT Newtonian Reflector Telescope presents an image with virtually no spherical abberation. Celestron also added their famous StarBright XLT coating system to further enhance light transmission.
This Celestron 6" reflector OTA does not include a telescope mount or tripod but does come with tube rings, a 6 x 30 finder with bracket, a 2" crayford style focuser, and a 25 mm eyepiece that will yield 30X magnification. Learn how to calculate your telescope's magnification in the video below!

Recommended Accessories

Apertura 1.25" Moon Filter
You won't believe how bright the moon is through a telescope! The Apertura Moon Filter will dim the light, just like sunglasses do, so you can see more details on the lunar surface. It also works great for Venus, bright double stars & daytime viewing. The moon filter threads onto the barrel of all included eyepieces and any other astronomy accessory you buy later that has a 1.25” barrel.

Apertura 2x 1.25" Barlow
A 2X Barlow is one of the most popular telescope accessories available because it doubles the magnification of any 1.25” you use with it! For instance, the Omni XLT 150 comes with a 25 mm eyepiece. Without the 2X Barlow, the eyepiece will produce 30X magnification. However, when the eyepiece is used with the Barlow, you'll enjoy 60X through the 25 mm. For every eyepiece you buy thereafter, you will get two magnification options instead of one!

Explore Scientific 6.5mm 52° Argon-Purged Waterpr...
The Omni XLT 150 telescope comes with a 25 mm eyepiece that will give you 30X magnification. If you add this 6.5 mm eyepiece, it will result in 115X, perfect for planets, the moon & more compact bright celestial objects. If you pick up a 2X Barlow as well, you’ll get about 230X when the two are used together (and 60X through your 25 mm eyepiece, to boot)! 230X is about max magnification for this telescope on typical evenings with good seeing conditions.

Apertura 10mm Super Wide Angle 1.25" Eyepiece
The Omni XLT 150 comes with a 25 mm eyepiece. which will give you 30X magnification. If you add this wide angle 10 mm eyepiece, it will bring objects 75X closer than your eye can see, a great choice for medium magnification views. Let’s say you add a 2X Barlow lens to the mix. Now you’ll have 4 different magnification choices that would go like this: 30X, 60X, 115X, 230X!
